Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) is a nationally recognised no-kill shelter at 1156 W Cesar Chavez, Austin, that has helped transform Austin into a no-kill city. Volunteers provide enrichment for dogs and cats, assist with adoptions, support veterinary medical tasks, and staff the thrift store and events. Open to volunteers from age 12 (under 16 with a parent). A $30 orientation fee applies (waivers available for financial hardship). Monthly commitment required.
