Germany's second-biggest animal shelter, caring for around 10,000 animals a year from its site in Hamburg's Hammerbrook district. Volunteer roles include cleaning animal houses, garden and upkeep work, and home visits to check on previously adopted animals. Minimum age 18, a short volunteer form is completed on-site for insurance purposes.
