Israel Antiquities Authority – Free Archaeological Volunteer

Dig at official IAA excavation sites across Israel at no cost, one of the most accessible archaeological volunteer programs in the country. Volunteers use picks, shovels, and hand trowels from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Sunday through Thursday, uncovering ancient artifacts under professional supervision. Sites span Biblical, Roman, and Byzantine periods. Volunteers must be physically fit and provide their own food, water, and transport.
