6,000-hectare Big 5 game reserve in South Africa's Eastern Cape with an education and rehabilitation centre for endangered predators including lions, Bengal tigers and cheetahs. Volunteers join small groups of up to 10 led by an outdoor coordinator for conservation and reserve maintenance work, and due to the wild nature of the animals there is no hands-on contact or close monitoring of predators.
