Food Rescue & Distribution Volunteering

City Harvest is New York City's largest food rescue organisation, collecting surplus food from restaurants, grocers, and farms and delivering it free of charge to hundreds of community food programs across all five boroughs. Volunteers at the Sunset Park facility (150 52nd Street, Brooklyn) sort and pack rescued food, assist with distribution logistics, and support nutrition education. Last year 13,500+ volunteers donated over 52,000 hours. Both individual and corporate group slots are available; first-time volunteers complete a short virtual orientation before their first shift.
